Using the Theme of Space to Launch Student Success in Integrated Content Areas! Grade focus K-12. Experience Living in Space -- an educational resource for engaging students in integrated content instruction that is theme-based, hands-on creating critical thinking and problem solving applications. The four stations include: (1) Effects of Microgravity on the Human Body: discover the effects of space travel on the body, such as blood transfer from limbs. (2) Astronaut Nutrition and Acclimation to Living in Microgravity: explore the different types of foods, preservation methods, and cutlery needed for astronaut menus. (3) Target Practice: participants will engage in experiments exploring the adventures of living in the “final frontier”. (4) Astronaut Fashion: learn about the effects of space travel and microgravity, and explanations of what to do on Earth to get ready to travel into space.
